Spider Cell Phone Detector - Finds hidden cell phones even when switched off & without a battery
Spider Cell Phone Detector – Professional Security Technology for High-Security Areas
The Spider is a highly specialized detector for the reliable detection of cell phones in security-critical environments such as correctional facilities, military installations, government agencies, and educational institutions.
Ferromagnetic Detection Technology
Unlike conventional metal detectors, the Spider uses ferromagnetic detection technology. This allows for the targeted detection of ferromagnetic metals used in cell phones, minimizing false alarms from other metal objects such as belt buckles, coins, or aluminum objects.
Reliable Detection under All Conditions:
- Detects all cell phones – regardless of model or age
- Works with both switched-on and switched-off devices
- Detects cell phones even without an inserted battery
- Penetrates various materials: concrete, masonry, plasterboard, wood, plastic, tiles, marble, aluminum, textiles, leather
- Detects cell phones underwater from the outside (e.g., in the toilet or in a glass, etc.)
- Detection range:
Spider: 10 cm
Spider Plus: 20 cm
Application and Handling
The Spider functions as a short-range scanner similar to a metal detector. It is suitable for thorough searches of persons, rooms, and objects. Its compact design (17 x 8 x 5 cm) and low weight (300 g) enable fatigue-free operation.
Additional Detection Capabilities
In addition to cell phones, the Spider also detects other objects made of ferromagnetic material, including certain knives and handguns.
Technical Equipment
The color TFT-LCD display (160 x 128 resolution) clearly shows alarms. In addition, alarms are given acoustically and via LED indicators. Operation is via a simple ON/OFF switch.
Power Supply
The Spider is powered by a standard 9-volt block battery (rechargeable batteries are also possible). The operating time is up to 3 hours per battery. Battery replacement takes only a few seconds.
Note on Electromagnetic Interference
Under normal operating conditions, the Spider reliably detects all cell phones. In environments with strong electromagnetic interference, false alarms may occasionally occur.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
The most important questions from our customers – concisely answered.
Are all cell phones detected – including older models?
Yes, the Spider detects all cell phones regardless of manufacturer, model, or year of manufacture. Detection works with both switched-on and switched-off devices and even when the battery has been removed.
How does the Spider detect?
The Spider works as a short-range scanner. Its handling is similar to a metal detector. However, the device only detects ferromagnetic material in cell phones, even through various materials – for example, behind tiles, in walls, or even in body cavities.
Can weapons and knives also be detected?
Yes, in addition to cell phones, the Spider also detects other objects made of ferromagnetic material. These include ferromagnetic knives as well as handguns made of ferromagnetic material.
Can the Spider be manipulated or circumvented?
No, manipulation is not possible. The Spider reliably detects all cell phones. Only in environments with strong electromagnetic interference can isolated false alarms occur. Under normal operating conditions, however, the device operates absolutely reliably.
